Jake's 'old friend' Goose is voiced by Billy West, who played opposite to Jake's VA in Futurama (West played Fry, among other characters, while DiMaggio voiced Bender the robot - and other characters). Casting Gag: The entire episode was likely written as an excuse to make a Futurama reunion.
Thanks to Magic Man's shenanigans, Jake finds himself transported to an alien, yet familiar, yellow world.
